about

Waiting for the Earthquake was inspired by a wonderful, if cataclysmic event in my life and explores both the desire for -- and dread of -- change. We recorded at Guerrilla Studios in Oakland using a largely live performance approach. Sugartown, an Americana-roots band, plays in clubs around the Bay Area, from Hotel Utah in San Francisco to Rancho Nicasio in West Marin to The Back Room in Berkeley. The band is known for its yearly Day of the Dead shows, performing songs by recently departed musical greats.
